Description
Rosmarie Tissi (Switzerland, 1937) is a graphic designer whose expressive and imaginative work exemplified the post-modern/pre-computer era of Swiss typography. Her display typeface Sinaloa has become nearly ubiquitous in modern life. Tissi won the Swiss Grand Award for Design in 2018.
As a small child Tissi lived on the Swiss border with Germany during World War II. Some of her earliest memories are clouded with fear of Nazi invasion. She designed the poster for the show, Words for Love. Love defies fear: Love Conquers Everything.
