Erin Miller (b. Houston, 1992) is an artist in Austin working primarily in print. She earned her MFA at Cornell University and has recently exhibited at Galveston Art Center. Miller is a member of MASS Gallery, and from 2014-16 Miller and friends operated Mom Gallery, an artist run space in Austin. Currently she lectures and is the Printmaking Area Lab Technician at the University of Texas at Austin.
Miller’s prints are alchemy gone awry: improvisational and considered, disciplined but with wild ways of making. Tassel Alchemy collages pieces of previous work. Part of Miller’s “Digestion” series, it’s as if previous experience is digested into bits and assembled into tissues of new flesh. Each print is pierced by a pair of grommets, varying from one piece to the next.
