Michelle Marchesseault (b. 1974 Indianapolis, Indiana) splits time between Austin, Texas, where she paints, and New York City where she designs art for interiors, screen, and stage. She attended the Herron School of Art in Indianapolis.

Marchesseault’s paintings range from somatic abstractions to painterly fantasy to winking representation, each a personal engagement with health, family, love, and memory mediated through a cobbled together culture of queers, punk-bohos, thrift-store design hawks, and community theater rejects.

She is currently painting murals and creating graphics M. Wells, the beloved Long Island City restaurant celebrating its final months in its Crescent Street location. Michelle has worked with M.Wells for over ten years — this is a special project for her.
